basically i have everything i need to swap the 1.4 to a 1.6 (sport)

i.e, engine, ecu, loom etc..

however i dont have the transponder and chip for the 1.6 ecu

what options do i have now?

Qs
1, Is there anyway of "unlocking" the 1.6 ecu to make it compatible with the transponder and chip from the 1.4

2, is there any way of purchasing a new transponder and chip that will be compatible with the 1.6 ecu, i.e from vauxhall etc

or will i just have to get a new ecu set of ebay

any help much appreciated

Your second option was to buy from Vauxhall, that would be more mone. buying a new set is only option, unless you want to pay auto electrian to reprogram key, which would be more

You could have the ecu unlocked and do away with the transponder mode, then it would just be key and ign, but you lose the security also will have to be dealer or auto locksmith both will cost a bit. might be better and cheaper to get ecu with matching chip.
