Basically, my friend has a clifford alarm fitted to a saxo vtr. On her keys she has the clifford fob, an old citroen key thats never worked and the ignition key with immobiliser unit in it. Tonight she unlocked it as per usual and when she went to go start it she put the dud key in and tried to start it. Turned it over for 8 seconds or so and it wouldnt start. Then she realised what she had done and put the other ignition key in and nothing would happen. Lights and ignition come on but it wont turn over. Tried D/C the battery and it still wouldnt start.

So i was wondering will it have triggered a deadlock system on the immobiliser circuit with the clifford being attachedor something, or is it something to do with it being french and breaking something else at an opportune moment?

Ive had a similar problem with mine in the past, was easy to sort, when i turned the key to ignition i had to press the button i normally use to unlock/dis-alarm on the clifford fob and that would then let me start the car.
I have a Concept 650mk2 alarm/immob so not sure if it would be the same as hers, problem sounds similar though.
Would always happen after i unlocked the car and hadnt started it within 30 seconds i think, and after i turned the car off it would happen if i didnt alarm the car or stick it in valet mode.
