First, as im spending all my money on the engine etc, will it be ok to run it on standard shocks and gmax -60mm springs for abit as i dont have the funds for uprated suspension yet? Heard alot of talk about using 300lb springs.
Second, is it a major issue when a XE taps for first minute from cold? whats the score there, seems to be quite common, is this anything to worry about?

You would need to uprate the springs ideally mate, severe understeering issues and bouncing about if you run it on standard shocks as its much heavier over the front axle

As for tapping its very common in these engines first thing, once warmed up should be fine, what oil you using in it??

pay for half decent suspension, you won't regret it.
my xe was shit on gmas uprated even, half decent suspension and your able to put that wee bit more in.
