As i have been out of a car for the last 3 months i have finally found a car that my insurance won't scream no at me for...
I have found a silver 'v' reg if i remember correctly 106, what are your views on 106's? ok i know its French and some people dont like them, but anything (mechanicle wise) i should know about them before buying?

every thing mechanical go wrong with them . Most common head gasket .gearboxes. Cluthes. Most the electric. Wheel bearings. Pas pump. Brakes are shockingly shit whateva u do to them. And the bearings in the rear beam go(torsion bar) . I would strongly recomend u dnt buy one. Betta off with a 12v corsa b there bullet proof.

nope insurance went skitz when i asked about a quiksilver... 1.1 forgot to mention...
There ain't that many corsa's around here for sale...
I found a 1.0 12v gls (i was told), but interior was 1.2 16v sxi so i aint sure :S

Head gaskets? Be wheest man.
106 1.1's are quite nippy, faster than 1.2 8v, 12v corsas, slightly slower than the 1.2 16v veriety.
Build quality isnt great. Clutches and wheel bearings are weak. Standard brakes are poor unless you go for at least 106 GTI brakes.
12v corsas are not bullet proof. Engines are strong, everything else isnt. All depends on how its been looked after in the past.
