Wouldn't waste your time with the tyre shine, I find it wears off after a few days or when it gets wet.
Rich sorted me out some stuff he uses which is much better, I washed mine last week and treated the tyres. Washed it again today and the tyres still shine. Cheers Rich

hot shine is awfull imo, i have tried loads of different tyre shines, £1 shop to some expensive stuff and i find megs 'gold class' high endurance tyre shine is best (when applied with a foam applicator)

mk4_boy - Yes the Endurance gel isn't bad, but unfortunately none of the "off the shelf" ones are much cop - trade ones are far superior as I'm sure you'll find in your new job!

depends what you want aswell doesnt it, i mean more natural/clean look, or very shiney look, all down to what you prefer..
the stuff we use at work is a watery solution (sure its auto glym) but as he buys in bulk he puts it in small bottles etc, and apply it via a brush, comes out well, but not as shiney as the endurance, more of a clean/natural look for the show room cars.

Endurance gel can be made satin too - apply then leave to dry for 20 mins or so then buff excess off with a rag. Also seem to get simialr results if you apply it to slightly damp sidewalls and buff off after a bit too.
In general the liquid ones you paint on (ie. usually trade ones) are better and can be made gloss or satin depending how you apply them
