The M3 evo is mapped to run on 98ron from the factory, with the nice "98RON only" sticker over the fuel gauge and inside the filler cap.


My 3.0 had the sticker too The M3's dont suffer with the same problems as the 2.5's and 2.8's but the UK blocks were softer than the U.S ones so its not really worth the risk. also they are a highly tuned engine tbh!

I used to run my old Pulsar on half normal unleaded and half Optimax.Didnt make a blind bit of difference even tho the car was mapped to run on the higher octane stuff(like most if not all Jap imports).
Still pulled 313bhp on the rollers and i was told it was running spot on.
