My brothers corsa sport 1.4 (X14XE) is hitting the limter at around 5000rpm and wont go past this. It tops out at about 90ish. When it hits about 3000rpm there is rattling noise coming from the back of the engine and it makes a sucking noise like as if it has a induction kit on it but it doesnt have one. Engine is totally standard and has a airbox on (non drilled, standard filter).
So far we have changed:
cam sensor
knock sensor
Fuel filter
checked all the plugs and leads and all are fine
checked all breather pipes and all are fine
Any idea's what this could be? Thanks.

Odd one , you could try another throttle body and check sealing ring or it might be being limited by sensor or signals to ecu but you have changed the common ones, try TB.

I know this is probably fuck all to do with anything but when the manifold blew off a punto I had the garage squished the lambda sensor with plyers and it limited very short in the revs and topped out about 75/80

We have changed the lambda sensor last week.
I will check the throttle body is sealed next then. If its still doing it would it be worth changing it?
It is a wierd 1 cos its been on the diagnostics and nothing came up?
