...after looking at quite a few rescue dogs, having one on trial at home for a week and having to give her back because of aggression towards people, very almost getting a different dog from the Blue Cross which ended up quite badly attacking our 12yr old lab when they were introduced (a story for another day, but it was HORRIBLE ), and then going to see ANOTHER lab that needed rehoming nearer Hereford but he was very very naughty, we finally decided to put the effort in and start from scratch with a puppy again! So, after a 4 hour return trip to the middle of nowhere in Wales, we have just got home with the new addition to the family; Finn

Fair play for getting one from the Blue Cross

That's what we did.

Best way to think about it is... its not like your replacing your old dog and its never gona be the same but ul be giving a dog a home

We waited a couple of months, and it's not a replacement as such. It's just a chance to move on and have good times again.

He was from near Lampeter, I will try to find out the village name tomorrow but I know we went through a lot of unpronouncable places (and I lived in Aberystwyth for 4 years too so Im quite used to silly welsh village names! )

tbh part of the reason was because we wanted to get a new companian for the 12yr old chocolate lab that we still have, because him and K.C., the 14yr old golden lab that was put down, were the best of friends. I work from home and I am with him most of the time, but even still, he has seemed a bit down and lonely for the last few weeks. It's not about replacing the dog that has passed away, try to thing about the new dog as an individual and what he can bring to your family
