I currently own a Toshiba A300-15B satellite laptop, its a good laptop and I have had no problems with it in 2 years of ownership and its always on. Although now I want something different. The laptop must have Microsoft Vista (dont want Windows 7 yet), 4gb RAM, 120gb hardrive there is not alot there. The problem is the price, can I get something like this for £400-450? Dont have alot of money at the moment. I have tried looking and not found anything.

There are as couple on the currys website with the ram you want and a much bigger hard drive
Although they have windows 7, you could just downgrade it using the code on your current laptop
PS. I only checked by ram, if there's a few other things you want there may not be any for you

Samsung R530.
3GB ram though, why do you NEED 4?
edit; Looking at current laptops, manufacturers are moving away from Vista onto 7 now - you'll struggle to find a new model laptop with Vista on. 7 is basically Vista without most of the bugs though. Why anyone would want to stay with Vista is beyond me.

Plus if your going for 4GB RAM, you want 64 bit windows. 32 bit windows can only assign 3.2GB of RAM for use

Sorry to be petty, but I thought it was 2.8 or 2.7GB?

It's actually closer to 3.4-3.5gB
I'm running 4gB on 32-bit 7 and it says 3.49gB is usable.

It's never the same when you look at it on different computers Luke
The recent fad seems to be selling laptops with 3GB RAM

I also have the Packard Bell Easynote TJ65. it's been used everyday since december and not had a single issue with it. it's never crashed and windows 7 seems to be the balls. you can change that much on it you can pretty much set it up exactly how you want.
the only thing that pisses me off about my easynote is that it has a bluetooth light on it which is bollocks as it does not have bluetooth. still, for the money its a great laptop.
