I spent some time cleaning the Polo yesterday and it's mint, but the wheels are letting it down.

They are in good condition in that they are all round and don't have any chunks missing in them, they are just pitted and showing their age.

I just want to give them a tidy up with the dremel, get some high build primer on it and put a coat of star silver on.

Is there a particular type of very light abrasive sand paper to use to remove the pitting etc?

start from a low grit 240 or close then go up in grades (not skiping more than one at a time) until you get to 1200. that should give you a good surface
