I've got an issue with my Corsa, where I'm struggling to get it started. It needs quite a bit of throttle to get it going, but once it's running it'll drive with no issues at all.
However, it now idles at a min of 1000rpm, or closer to 1200 most of the time as if it's stuck on the choke.
The EML is on, so I've read the codes and get 1405 and 0400 (both EGR) and 0335 (crank sensor), but that was without the engine running so crank is to be expected. I also assume the EGR codes are because it's blanked off.
One thing I did find strange though, was when it was running and the paperclip was in, it ran at 800rpm, but the revs rose as soon as I took the paperclip out.
I've changed the spark plugs as they looked black, but it can't be overfuelling by much as I got 33mpg out of the last tank, which is normal for me.
Any ideas will be greatly recieved! Cheers, Tom

Everytime I've read a car, the crank sensor doesn't come up if the engine isn't running?

Hmm ok, I did try to flash the codes with the engine running but the light just flashed at me constantly, no alteration in speed at all.
I'll try and take a good look at the sensor and it's wiring then, I know they can be tempremental with dodgy spacing and snapped wires - would that cause high idling though?

That was my thinking Scott, from my understanding of how the crank sensor works anyway.
Any other suggestions people?

If anyone is interested, it appears it was the CTS (Coolant Temperature Sensor). Second time in two years, and both were genuine Bosch/GM sensors too!
It only really started playing up towards the end of the last tank of fuel, so perhaps thats why the mpg seemed normal.
