A little help please guys........

My Nephew finally got out in His corsa adter passing His test. Unfortunately on His first visit to the garage He put £10 of diesel in and the car soon chugged to a stop! Having taken advice from the service station he brimmed the tank with petrol and did eventually get the car going all be it running very rough. It gave up again so plugs were changed in the hope that it would fire but this made no difference.

A fella who used to own a garage and still fixes cars (alledgedly) took the car, drained the tank, changed the coil pack and plugs (bare in mind the plugs were new!). After that he cleared the ECU and the car wont start at all!

Could the diesel or matey's work have killed the car or are we possibly looking at another problem that has occured coincidentally at the same time?

Thanks for any help

best thing i could say is to run the paperclip test first to see if any codes come up and then go from there really, do you get anything at all from turning the key? can you hear the engine tryin to srtat or does it just turn over with no struggle at all?

don't think you can do paperclip on x10xe can you? and it won't have ht leads either, it's got the DIS module

Turns over but wont fire. Vec V6 has dispack and leads........not had a chance to look at the car myself as this other Fella has it but I've told the Nephew to get it back before he gets charged for more failed attempts.

Thanks for replies so far

AlunJ is right, Cant do paperclip test, and dont have HT leads.

Change the fuel filter for a start, put some petrol in, maybe try some carb cleaner down the inlet as you get somebody else to turn it over/try to start.

fuel lines, fuel filter and fuel injectors clogged with diesel.

Give them a clean up and replace the filter should start up.

Apparently the guy had it started but the EML was on so He decided to zero the ECU! Why he didn't investigate for fault codes is anyones gues. Its after zeroing the ECU the thing now doesn't start.
