I'm siding with Nic tbh, I don't see the point in excessive stretch so the lip of the wheel sticks out. Not only does it look nasty but it's dangerous too.
Get tyres that fit properly and raise it back up that extra 5mm.

No.
Anyway something doesn't have to cause a crash between two cars to be dangerous. If the rim digs in and sends the car flying then you can still get hurt.

you dont know what you're talking about. Anyone with stretched tyres that has any sense drives sedately.

Tbh I'm not sure if I'd put my trust in everyone with stretched tyres not to give it some now and again.
It's just another VAG Scene thing that I see as pointless.

so basically this thread is pointless. the correct answer is the cheapest tyres that fit onto the rim with the corrcet amount of scene look. nothing to do with the quality of the tyre, the durability or the grip at all. as that cannot be a factor stretching them and with the camber you scene puppets run. as the tyre themeselves were never developed to be ran like you do. the actual contact patch of the tyre when cornering is, well not important at all.
so to answer the thread. the cheapest shite you can find.

sorry but if they were dangerous in the first place would they sell them? I dont know enough about tyres to argue with you all day long, all i know is on my car the tyres grip fine albeit with less sidewall flex

they wont grip like they were made to due to the stretch and the camber you have.
a shotgun is dangerous. they still get sold. dont see what point you are trying to make.

Exactly. They make them because some people can't be bothered to pay for decent tyres (or perhaps just plain can't afford them).

a cheap shite tyre would be more than adequate. if you have expensive tyres on your car you have only wasted your money.
edit, my point is. the tyre isnt necessay as a tyre. its for a look. which a cheaper tyre will do the same and provide you with equal amounts of grip due to the stretch and the camber you have.
its like putting f1's on a motorway only car. whats the point? they will wear faster and provide no benefit. cheaper harder compound tyre will wear a lot less over same distance. the grip isnt important.

now you're just waffling on. Daveskater you havent a clue what you're talking about
seeing as you edited that to include an essay. I dont know why you keep mentioning camber to me when my car has got a max of .5degree camber. You're starting to see the picture, milton keynes is based on a grid system so i dont need 150£ a corner tyres to get me from a to b.

I can't be bothered to reply to that. In short, I think you're the one that doesn't know what you're on about.

Nic Barnes, you've more or less contradicted yourself with one of the above comments, you dont know mine, or the original posters driving style so unless you're making a generalisation, which is pointless in this topic, youre wasting your own time.

only because your making it to be, who cares about the stretch i will be running etc, all i wanted to know is what i asked..
thats the reason i didnt say the size i wanted!
and the size is down to having the wheels i want to fit on the car im having, not for scene points what ever your on about..
like i have said before, if you havnt got nothing helpfull to say then please just dont post it, i think your car looks utter shite, but i dont go filling your threads with unhelpfull comments do i..
