ok , so what can i do to get more power, then , nice cheap suitable mods ? its got at the moment, a full aftermarket exhuast system and a ecotech adapter pipe, is there anything else , you would recomend ?

Cheap mods will never, ever give you big power.
You have a xe, on the books its 150bhp, it will be old, tired & have lots of miles, it wont have 150bhp.
Best thing you can do is a full service, decent filter, decent manifold & system.

na tuning just isnt cheap. Throw a turbo on it and run low boost.

its a everyday car, but can be off the road willy nilly sorta thing, i woudnt say i was very competant with a spanner but iam not stupid, plus i have a few mates who no what there doing why lee_ wee ?

throttle bodies can be an arse to setup, cold start problems etc, not the best for an everyday car imho.

your thinking of carbs seth ?
tb's wont suffer if a cold start map is in place

What problems did you have with a throttle bodied engine seth? Once set up they are fine. Its carbs that are a pain i thought? And a throttle body set up probably cost you best part of 2k mapped.

Nowt wrong with carbs. Depends how there set up. Mates used to be 2 pumps of throttle and away it went. Anotha mate has bike carbs, hold choke out for 10seconds and again off u go. Bettley if def serious bout a decent xe and not just an idea. Pop down. Work somethng out

Very rarely eg twin 40's have chokes so they can be an arse on a very cold day and a lot of inlet back firing is nice too.
