hi
my mates building a 1.6 8v, and just bought r1 carbs jetted for a 1.6 and a piper competition road cam and vernier pully,

and was woundering if to run it on double valve springs or will it be ok on standard springs?

Depends what rpm he plans on taking it to below 7k should be fine but also depends on the lift as well. Check the part number on the piper site. If its a full blown race spec one then they recommend it but a fast road one will be fine on the standard ones
