Probably no use to you but if you have some spare alloys lay around and can get away with 195/50/15 then two Toyo T1R for £37.99 each

I'm not normally one for cheap tyres but I bought a set of wheels off ebay and the tyres were shagged - uneven wear and low.
I went round the part-worn places - managed to get 4 Michelin Premacy with 6mm min and no repairs for £130 all in and done. That was for 225/45/r17s. Could have got Continentals or Pirellis for 350 each, but he didnt have 4.
Just carefully check the tyres before they fit them, and check they are not massively old from the casings and they will do for a while.

Im using a set of 4 second hand michelins. The worst 2 where put on the front to wear down. The back are virtually like new, Loads of tread left.
When the 2 fronts go down, I'll put the 2 toyo proxes i have in the shed on and wear them down then go onto the set of pirelli's i have.
Somehow with this car i have ended up with loads of spare tyres after buying 2 sets of second hand alloys. Threw the worst tyres out and kept the good ones. Just take them to a mate to have them put on the rims.
Saved myself a small fortune on car tyres this time. Not bothered whats on the car aslong as its round, with tread on and doesn't go flat. Its another story with the bike, That gets the best new tyres i can afford at the time!

When i bought the pug i got a punture within a week. Never have i had tyres repaired but the car was just a few days old. That tyre is still on the car after being repaired and done 50k with still a bit of life left in it. 50k motorway miles 70% on its life on the rear.
So no, having a tyre repaired would not put me off if i were short of money.
Price does seem a little high though Matt.
I get tyres from Costco at £60 a corner. Michlen Energy are probably not what you want for the track though

read the thread, i said it would put me off taking one on a track, to potter about the roads id have one repaired all day long

I just paid £320 all in fitted and balanced for 4 Federal SS-595's in 18's on the Astra.
