shouldn't that sort of stuff be on a covering letter? I suppose you could put it as an intro to the CV though

Have a small section in your cv called "professional overview" and just state your experience and what you like doing.
E.g. From mine:
A Software Engineer with 5+ Years of proven IT experience and a proven track record of success in specialising in computer hardware and software. Providing high quality software solutions to the Ministry of Defence and improving proven set standards within an organisation.
A candidate who can work as an individual and as a leader, with experience in helping others and being able to speak out in a large group of people.
Experienced in developing and implementing software and hardware solutions to defined specifications, good knowledge of sales and the business structure, software and the development life cycle.
With a wide range of skills that can be applied to obtain the best of a given situation or problem. A good business understanding that makes a proficient sales person. The in-depth knowledge of the inner workings of computers which produces the skills to develop and create business winning IT solutions whether it be software or hardware.
