hi.my corsa b 1.7d has started makin a noise on the rear passenger side when im driving,doesnt do it all the time but then like a constant squeaking/rumbling ,everything seems fine round there,ive looked underneath as thought it was exhaust at first but thats secure,does anyone think perhaps shock absorber? when car was at stand still ive tried to squash the shock but doesnt make the noise then,only when im driving-am scared wheels gonna fall off or summat! help much appreciated

Check your wheel bearings. Rock your wheel from top to bottom and see if it moves if not try it with a metal bar. Check the wheel nuts are tight aswel

cheers mate.wheel nuts are tight.also ive had wheel bearings go before and its not that kind of rumble,you know the rumble they make when theyre ready to go like a whirring sound

wheel off and hub assembly quite loose so im thinkin its wheel bearing,took it all to bits and a trip to the scrappers tomorrow,oh and a 3 mile walk to work-happy days!

You'd be best off buying some new bearings mate rather then getting some from scrap yard.

Yeah, they are only about £5 brand new!
