If i take the inlet manifold off to get behind it, when i put it back on will i NEED a new gasket?

If so, can someone explain why?

It is always best practice to renew all gaskets once you have removed the old one. If you reuse the old gasket and have a leak, you will have to go through the job of stripping the work back down to do what you should have done in the first place.
Not only air leaks are involved with the inlet manifold, you could let water into the pistons as well if the seal is not good.
Get a gasket off ebay, or if in a hurry, find your nearest vauxhall garage for one.

depends on the gasket, reused mine as it looked clean and undamaged. Can see the point others are making.

Should use proper GM gaskets too. I bought a rocker gasket from ebay....was shit!

Gasket for the upper inlet manifold was only 5.13 from vaux when I bought one recently. Hardly worth the risk for the sake of 5 quid tbf
