I’m wanting power increase in my Corsa and was wondering if anyone on here would share their knowledge and wisdom with me, and give me some advice and tips in getting this GSi to go quicker.

As far as a 1.6 16v Corsa goes, it is pretty nippy, had a few drives with other 1.6 sports, GSi’s n 14. 16v. Hits the rev-limiter in 5th with ease doing about 133-134mph (acceleration more than topend as tht would require new gearbox)

Currently the car has had full engine rebuild 3k ago, all the seals, pistons, rings etc was replaced, its got 4-2-1 manifold, de-cat pipe, induction kit with cold air feeds etc, light alloys and ordered coilovers,. Only thing I can think of is stripping it out, but apart from that, what could I do, where do I get it from and how much power roughly would it give me?

Cheers

I dont particullaly want to redtop it, sounds stupid but i want to keep it realtively genuine with the 1.6 etc, also that would RAPE my insurance as i'm only 19, its a bit dodge modding cars and not declaring, let alone spanking a 2ltr in there lol!

Get a powerbox, search corsa inlet on eBay. It's an uprated inlet, huge power gain because corsa sport have some stupid inlet manifold system. To keep the power down (stop high insurance etc) I think they say vxperformance on them

A closer ratio gearbox would make your car faster to 60 but would make the top end lower...

an uprated inlet with cams and a remap would prbably see you 20 - 25bhp more

Dblias TBs are shit by all accounts, Im not sure which are best though, 200bhp is acheiveable from the 1.6 when using TBs
