Hi guys,

I was speaking to a guy I know earlier who is a motorsport engineer.... I told him about all the mods I had recently purchased and that mine should be running 240bhp when it's been mapped (Rob B's is running 250bhp with similar mods......):

- Gruppe M
- RBC inlet manifold
- DC Sports header (exhaust manifold)
- Spoon B pipe
- Spoon N1
- K100 ecu

He laughed and said I'd be lucky to make 15bhp with the above mods, even though I showed him other civic owners with similar/some of the mods making 240bhp with just the exhaust system, air filter and ecu....

Working in IT, I only have limited(very ) knowledge of cars and engine tuning/mapping - my guess would that be they just fully utilise the less restrictive mods and up the air / fuel ration throughout?

He said he'd give me £40 if it made more than 240bhp so I'm kinda hoping it does

Thanks in advance...

240bhp seems achievable with those mods surly al those mods would make more than 15bhp. hope it makes more than 240bhp so you can laugh in his face!

These engines are around 200bhp as standard right? I don't know much but with them mods, I reckon it could make near 240bhp.

I would place the bet with him and put the £40 towards the mapping

some engines have massive restrictions on with regards to air filters/exhaust systems etc.

maybe he's thinking about other engines that don't have as big restrictions?

43bhp seems easily achievable.

bhp is everything, nic. everyone knows that. all that matters is that your car has a higher bhp figure than your friends.

i have noticed a lot of people with hondas massively exaggerate their power figures and most are angry after rolling road tests. Your car makes what it makes.

back box wont make any difference but the b pipe will help a fair bit as its the most restrictive part

You will make over 240bhp if it's mapped by someone decent!, i made 251.9 mapped by myself at uni (using a base map).
