fitted a mantzel to my 1.6

was fine for a while then it started to rev on idle

eml came on - paper clipped it and it said egr

blanked off egr - no change
cleaned egr - no change
brand new egr - no change

garage said it would be an air leak but ive sprayed carb cleaner everywhere and i just cant fint it

if sprayed directly into the tb it will cut the engine out but around the inlet it does nothing

really pissing me off now

it usually just sits at 2.2k

but not all the time. sometimes it will sit idling properly then just fly up

sounds like a vacum air leak mate. just check all the hoses

either that or idle control valve

I'd say that was an air leak as well. I had this problem on mine except mine revved right up to around 5k. If all else fails I'd take it off and refit it with lots of gasket sealant to make sure you've got good seals everywhere

going to garage tomorrow,

ive taken the inlet off and refitted it

and re done all my vac hoses
wrapped them in tape and its still doing it
