...I'd like to replace my current car and have my eye on a couple of BMW's.
Which are the best UK forums to get onto to find out what they are they like to own etc?
I'd like to also know what sort of stuff to look out for when buying, what to avoid etc. etc.

i dont like non M models with M wheels though. Looks abit naff.
msport wheels would be a good choice

I'm being told by Phil @ SQ Plus that the 330d is ok, and cheaper to run. Any take on this?

I'd go with that, the d is awesome, feels much better to drive than the petrol IMO

So how are they in terms of reliability? What's the servicing like on them too? Anything major to look out for on them?

My e46 325 was solid, never missed a beat.

Servicing isnt too bad on them either. BMW are reasonable unlike audi, VW etc. When i had mine the dealers were doing service and MOT for £100 iirc.
