See this....

I've got one of those. Currently i've got some stong velcrow and i stick it inside my crash helmet by my chin. As you ride with your head facing slightly down, when i record things it faces downward. I've tried adding some padding to raise the direction of the camera, but it still only just views over my screen.

Is anyone in the SE (Kent) area good at making small brackets and such up? I'd like to keep this in my lid, hopefully in the indent either side of your eyes (on the crash helmet), or devise a way to mount it to my bike so I can record. I've got no tooling, and no materials though (guessing a thin plate of metal that can be cut and bent into a position of attachment).

Is anyone around who might be able to help make something up for this? I've got until mid June latest, but would like to get it done sooner so i can test it properly

Warren, JR when your back, Willay? Anyone else in the area that might be able to think of something or help out?

looking on the bright side would it not mash your face up if it was inside your helmet and you had an off?

AJ, no, the helmet doesn't implode. Its tiny, just a bit thicker than a USB memory stick.

Davey - Too big, the cameras to small and I want to be able to easily store it away. Sucker take up too much room.

I've seen people make thin plates which slide down the side of the lid between the outer casing and inner lining.

Either that or a nice little bracket made up that I can bolt onto the bike.

If I had one of the larger cameras i'd buy a suction mount.

You can buy generic mounts already.

It doesn't sound such a good idea having it inside the helmet TBH.

Have seen some people who mount cameras on the side of the forks, using the bolt holding the caliper on iirc.
Depends on the front end of your bike tbh mate.
Also, depends what ways there are of attatching the mount to the camera.
Got anymore pics/sizes, ill try and draw something up.

Not many places to mount it.

Thats why im looking for someone local so they can use their marvel to work out whats possible.

Im thinking somethign simple, thin sheet of metal cut down and bent into a sturdy bracket where I can fix more velcro on and the camera can stick on that way.

I just got no metal sheets or tools to cut it to make a nice clean job of the cutting.

Yeah, not much room for anything on the front though. Very smooth, two of the air holes are for the airbox (so no no there) and the other two feed the rear radiator, so another no no.

Won't mount it to forks or calipers, not much room and can't just turn it on/off with my hand.

Kinda wanted it behined the screen area so it gets rid of some of the wind noise. Also makes it easier to record my friends on their bikes (not for UK use this stuff) and I can start/stop when I want with ease.

The bolt thats i've circled. What is that holding together?

Could that be replaced with a longer one to hold an 'L' bracket there?

No probs.

If a bracket is able to be bolted there it'll be easy to make.

L bracket and tape your camera bracket/holder to that. Job done.

Thats exactl what im thinking. I know its simple to do, just no material, and if I use my electric saw its not gonna be a nice pretty job

I think i'll try Lee now Tony's suggested him. He was used to me badgering him a few years ago, hope he still doesn't mind

if i were you i'd get down the scrap yard with an adjustable spanner. pop a few bonnets and look for a bracket that will do the job. air filter boxes usually have some kind of L shaped bracket. it'll have a hole in it already so you can pick up on that bolt. piece of piss mate.
