I was at Brands Hatch making my racing debut in the VAG trophy last weekend, in between practice/quail/race I grabbed some pics of the other cars and race series that were in attendance

Random convertible 3er race car!

Genuine 1989 BTCC car, dribble.

My race car!

Is it just me or is this guy looking far too depressed for someone driving an F430GT?

This got rolled at paddock hill bend

Old v New, both with the same engine though!

Tripoding the right way!

Not bad for my first ever race!

I think I did see your car there. Some good pics, my mate (who is racing in it) took shed loads in Quali off the pit wall.

Are you doing the next round at Combe?

See if he has any of me! Sadly my photo taking/driving skills are mutually exclusive

And I surely am doing the next round at Combe, I have a championship to win!

Sssshhhh you'll ruin it for me! It wasn't 4th fastest lap, that just shows fastest in class..... and as you'll see I was the only one in my class....hence winner

But ask any racer, any real racer and he'll tell you that winning's winning, it doesn't matter if you win by an inch or a mile (or if you're just racing yourself)

I was looking at those times and wondering what the feck you guys were up to.... too fast!

Then saw the 1:xx ... then thought too slow.

Then I realised - GP circuit!

Good Stuff, any in car footage?

Sadly not, I took one of those spy cams with me and it packed up before practice. We also forgot the main in-car camera as we had a last minute welding repair job to do on the trailer, which threw us a bit! DEFINATELY will next time!

I was in the 58's on the Indy in Friday practice, which isn't blistering but not bad for relatively standard golf that was down on power

To be fair my car is basically a class D2 car, the only difference is I have studs instead of bolts, my car is 5kgs lighter, I have the battery in the passenger footwell and my car was down on power (cam timing is miles out, the cams have since been removed and found to have incorrectly made pulleys!) So when compared to the established D2 cars I did bloody well for a first time out for car and driver!

Not always and at £300p/hr I couldn't afford it if there was John had a bit of a mis-fire too, hopefully he'll be out for the next round. There was meant to be another entrant too, but they were a no-show.

I didn't hear the Slidesports Golf. I'll make sure I pass the R32 engined mk2 on the inside then, don't want it understeering me off the track Hopefully my mates 20vT mk2 will be out, expect it to be right up the front of the grid
