I live just down the road and have only been drinking up there a couple of times
You go in the bar with the rodeo bull thingy? Quite amusing when you are wasted.

Coyote Wild your on about...Sun lounge is good, depending on your taste in music. Santanders on the market place near the waterfall. TBH Notts is much better night out.

what he said, on friargate, got a lot of pubs on the way to there as well, Seymours (next to the church) Bishops Blaise, Varsity, The Friary (Scream) is a pub/club, pub open till at least midnight, the club is open till 3, cheap drinks, good atmosphere, generally not much scum in there.
Few pubs on Sadlergate are good too, then there's the Wetherspoons and "Yates" up the road from Walkabout.
Lots of pubs in a small area to be fair
I prefer the more independent, non-chav pubs personally, most of the one's i've listed are that, well, except Spoons obviously, but it's cheap, so it's a good trade-off

tbf, if you're young, e.g. 18 you'll want to hang around the town centre really, more totty, and young folk.
If you want a nice drink, with the ability to talk to people, then head down Sadlergate/Friargate
