I was wondering if you can you use a x14xe head on a x16xe bottom end? Cheers

yes will work 100% fine
May differ slightly in preformance due to different sized ports

iirc vauxhall put 1.4 heads on the 1.6 and made the x16xel not 100% on that though

Not likely considering the X16XEL head combined with the C16XE block gives the best gains, according to SBD.

so basicly the only difference between x14xe and x16xe is the bottom end so same ecu and everything. i have always thought this but never known for sure

Im sure I remember reading that vauxhall only supply one head now for all the engines so there wont be any difference in head design if you went to vauxhall.
