if you still got tax disk then your covered for 5 days, as long as you applied for new one before the old expired.

When did you order it??If iirc,if you order it so many days before it runs out, then you are covered if it isnt here in time. But if you order it late, then you have to wait till it comes.Could be wrong on the last part.

print off the recipt email from dvla and carry it with you. tbh, your only issue is not displaying the disc. you are taxed to drive it though.

police tend to already know if the car is taxed and tested, they just humour the people they stop. if it already ran out then your not meant to drive it...unless you feel lucky

Police can fine £60 on the spot for not displaying tax, which is a separate offence from not having it. I'd say you'd be ok if you carry the receipt around, but technically you shouldn't drive it.

I've heard the 5 days grace thing, not sure if it's true though. I suspect it's not.

I would say Police would be fairly understanding as long as you're not taking the michael.

Jesus, why dont ANYbody read any of the DVLA web pages.

It clearly says you have 5 days from the day you buy the disc online, you can drive your car in that time.
You will be fine as its past the 31st.

if youve ordered it online you have 5 days to start displaying. Youd have to of really wound the officer up to get ticketed for not displaying as well, but you will be fine
