What are you overall thoughts
I've purchased a 58 plate 1.2 and pick up on Tuesday evening. Cheap and cheerful with just under 2 years warranty left.

1.2 is.
Slightly different from a 3.0 V6 Vectra.

My mum has a 1.2 Corsa D, very similar car i believe? Its dangerously slow, just way too heavy for that engine.

Yes - i either got something to sit on the drive and use when i can be arsed, and have a garage look after it. Or, i get something a little daft and do as much of the work required myself. Got it for a decent price and can sell on still at that price if i want.

My Punto has made me loose interest in cars.

1.2 8v is deathly slow. I can't really comment because mine is a Sporting with all the goodies, better suspension and bigger alloys.
I love how much space is up front though, and the foot rest for clutch foot. Sporting handles really well although a bit choppy.
The only real appeal of the Punto's is the Sportings or good diesels though. If I was faced with a 1.2 I'd have preferred a previous Fiesta or something.

I find it hard to belive it'll move when they are also available with a 1.9JTD 130bhp engine

Only one i would go for is the diesels. Bit more punch in them than the petrols

the only reason Ive still got mine is because its quick, I can imagine a small engined 55bhp one would be wank
it might surprise you though

My 1.4 16v with the 6 speed box is pretty gutless tbh, it doesn't have much torque. It's only quick if you drive it quick i.e. rev the nuts off it.
I wouldn't say they're particularly plasticy inside or anything. I'd describe Punto's as great value for money.
