Him: Hi, oh where are you.
Me: just sat watching telly like I do every day.
Him: Urm ive went & stuck petrol in my car (diesel) can you meet me at the Audi garage.
Me: Yeah ok.
Went there & walked in just as the lady broke the news to him that it was going to cost £368 +VAT to drain the tank, flush the lines & change filters etc.
Should have seen his face!!
Then we get out & I ask him how much he stuck in............just 2 litres.
Should have just left it in there!!
Tried to talk him into buying a new car while we were there but hes full of reasons not to, even though I said he could probably swerve the bill for the tank flush.
Not having it though!!
What a fanny!! Anyone else's dad beat mine?? Last month he paid chips away £150 to 'paint' his rear bumper.....it came out looking like a school child had done it!!

Take it he just went "no" and filled it up with diesel? as unleaded doesn't actually ruin diesel engines just don't run on it, people put 5-10% of unleaded in diesel during winter in cold places.

Other way around. Petrol in a diesel really fucks it. It's a costly fix as you need to bleed the investors

No diesel in a petrol screws things up as diesel is like 10x more viscous, i've already said people in cold countries put 5-10% PETROL in DIESELS to stop the diesel getting very thick.

My dad put petrol into his diesel VW caddy (and seeing as his other car is diesel too I don't know how he fucked it up). He just pushed the caddy to the side of the forcourt and syphoned the tank with a pipe and some extra strong mints

In older diesels I'll agree... however modern diesels have fine tolerances and seals etc. Diesel acts like a lube. However 2L in a 50L tank would not harm it.

Just been to pick it up, came back £245.04 lighter.
I also managed to get him to test drive a 59 plate A4 Avant S-line & get a quote to change.
He was offered 12k for his 4yr old A4 Avant S-line.....which is more than half what he paid for it brand new 4yrs ago....which I think is decent!!
Just need to convince him to do it, ive already told him to enjoy himself to the max & start spending my inheritance.

My mate had a diesel and converted it to a 2.0 Turbo petrol and didn't tell his sister. She brimmed it with Diesel and it cut out about 2 metres outside the petrol station. £100 to get it drained and cleaned.

I thought diesel pump nozzle was bigger so you cant actually put it in a petrol filler?
