the thing i'not sure about is parts pricing for VW, don't want to be spending a small fortune for every part, i have the corrado for that

I use a mk3 astra van for fishing. Id go for something like this as its big enough to kip in as well

i saw that but its too small.
i spose an astra is a safe bet, cheap parts, but will it go wrong more often

for something like a polo estate, part won't be amazingly expensive, everything is off the shelf still, not like older vw's where things are becoming obsolete
8v's go forever, sluggish but bullet proof, a good solid run about if you get a good one
