x16xe not starting, engine management light is on and its not gettin a spark, any help will do thanks

changed crank sensor, it now starts and runs but wont tick over, just cuts out

You need to clean out the icv, or replace it.

changed icv and now it struggles to start and idles all over the place.eml will go off then come back on for a bit then go off again

went out in the car today and its struggling to idle and then suddenly revs it self to the limiter,eml still comes on often, any help please, getting fed up of it now

Try to get the codes with the paperclip test, if this engine has an egr clean it out, or blank it off.
Did you clean the replacement icv valve, there are how tos on all the above on here. Could be the map as suggested, afm could also be at fault, there are so many issues that can give such problems, it is a matter of trying and discarding until you get the answer you are looking for.
Could also be that the injectors are at fault, put some redex in the tank, and see what happens. Sorry, there is no definitive answer that I can give, but do try all the above. I know what you mean it can really p*ss you off at times, but keep working away and you will get there.
There is also a great wee post on here I think, it is called all you need to know about sensors. If you cannot find it, let me know any old email address you have and I will attach it for you, it is a real help beleive me.

checked all vaccum pipes and started it then unplugged the MAP sensor and then just idled lumpy but doesnt hit the rev limiter on tick over now,i gather that that is at fault then, ill get a new MAP sensor then, big thanks for all your help
