http://www.johannhari.com/2008/05/06/my-experiment-with-smart-drugs

tl;dr ... Summary, Guy takes a drug called Provigil which helps him concentrate and makes him smarter. With the only downside being you lose weight? It sounds awesome.

Would you take these?

There's a response to the article on the bottom of the Johann article anyway saying it's probably not the best idea.

And the fact he even says at the end that maybe in 50yrs when the long term implications have been realised he might take them, but it's not worth the risk for now.

The counter article basically says it focuses you but stops any creativity

Few people here take it every day and say it's fine?

Thing is, I actually seem to have a bit of a sleep problem, I never feel really awake. I could stay in bed and sleep all day long easily.

Like I'm sitting here now, awake, but I could quite easy shut my eyes and fall asleep immediately.

The worst is mornings for me ... I literally can't think straight and stumble around - every day. At work I have to have a load of coffees and then I only just start feeling a bit normal by lunch - but still not 100% awake.

This drug sounds like it would be fantastic for me.

Sort out your diet, drink plenty water and exercise. Drugs aren't the answer in just about any case.

This is the one thing that really helps me get a good night's sleep. Couple of hours in the pool, something to eat when I get home and I'm ready for bed.
