must have been the rust on the inside of the drums after the rain making them really sharp
to some people having this opinion just says, "oh look at me, i drive a punto"
No it doesn't - he didn't mention a Punto...

am hoping they will be better than the drive home i had with the car, was pulling on handbrake and standing on the pedal to stop, even then it just rolled to a stop
(i also drive a corrado vr6 btw, if anyone is interested about that)

My standard brakes were fairly shocking. When I got some decent tyres on it made it less lethal but I could still lock the fronts relatively easily and the backs locked up for fun, although it was usually just one side which would throw the car sideways. I remember once on a narrow road I came round a slight bend and there was a car coming the opposite way, braked and the back end went and it was still sliding slightly as I was along side the other car and with a stone wall on the other side
I felt fear that day.
I've got 2ltrs on the front now which are much better and help stop the rears locking too, I don't think I've actually locked the rears since I fitted them, I've locked one front at a time once or twice in the wet but I was giving them some stick when it happened.
And whoever mentioned that surely brakes are good if they lock, not necessarily, it's usually because of a small pad putting a lot of pressure on a small disc which makes them lock far too early. Good brakes stop well and don't lock up easily. Bad brakes lock far too early and once they have done they're as good as useless

Or the fact that you have brakes that are quite frankly overkill and the ABS goes mental when you try and brake whilst not in a straight line
e.g. MK1 Focus RS 4 pot 324mm discs on a Zetec S Fiesta

I had bigger brakes than that on the front of a Corsa...
...also 4 pots for the rear too.
