You sure so if my eml light comes on or I need a tune up I use that port bearing in mind it's a c20xe ?

Has the engine been wired to run through the diagnostic port? I know a few people don't bother wiring it up.
The port is just for fault finding, You can't tune the C20XE on standard management.

ah well i was going to get a tune up through an auto electrician but he needs the port to plug his equipment into i had the conversion done at mcd vaux conversions

The plug is so he can plug in his laptop to monitor the readings of the sensors.
There is little he can adjust really.

Just making sure it is well serviced and has no split hoses or air leaks and a clean fuel system will make sure it runs as it should.

You can't gain any extra power out of it with a 'tune up'.

To get extra power you will need to uprate parts.
