Mum got woken up at 2.00am this morning to find 2 men stealing a neighbours caravan. She dialled 999 but knew they were going to get away, so she (madness imo) sneaked out into the car when they were still in the street and waited till they drove off and followed them!
I've gone mad at her for being so bloody stupid ....... What would you do in her situation ?

They hadn't hooked it up properly, she says there were sparks flying from the bottom off it. They were going up a hill, mum behind them when it came loose and landed on an embankement. They got away She didn't get the reg. of the van they were in, it was hidden by the caravan. The police say they know who's responsible

we always chase theives away, etc and help out neighbours..
if you're not there for your neighbours, don't expect your neighbours to be there for you, should you ever need them

where my mum lives, a lot of theiving etc has happened there and we always get involved in trying to ensure they don't get away, they're mostly idiotic chavs, but my dad's been in a situation before where he chased about 14 lads out the back garden (most waiting outside the gate), then chased em a few meters before they realised how much they outnumbered him, one punched him, another pulled out a big blade (he got away safely when the police arrived...although they did nothing to pursue the offenders, they just let them get away because they were outnumbered..)
So you can't be too careful, but you can't let them walk all over you either, else they'll do it again and again.

Go outside in front of another house (mainly the misery guts next door), and throw stones.
That way, if they come back for you days later, they break into next doors and not hers
