Why?

Because they aren't exactly a Porsche or Lotus.

I see people like DaveB for example treating his Corsa as if it's some sort of F1 car. It's not. It's a Vauxhall Corsa.

I don't want to live like that. It would be a lie.

I own 4.

For the road they are fine. They just don't belong on the track in my opinion. A Vauxhall on a track full of supercars is like a kid with downs syndrome on the pitch during a Man U / Chelsea game.

Each to their own mind, I'm not judging anyone else.

Why must you use contrived and unfunny analogies that don't make your point but in fact make you look a dick.

A Vauxhall on the track is a car being driven by its owner having a bit of fun at the weekend. No different to a Ford owner having a bit of fun or a Porsche owner having a bit of fun.

Quite why we need a downs syndrome football reference I'm not clear.

Do you have any humour relating to people building a 400bhp car who can't drive?

I cant remember the last time I saw a supercar at a trackday.

Have you ever driven a Vauxhall with a bit of money spent on brakes and suspension on a track? If not you should have a go, its good. You could even spend all day keeping a full face helmet on so no one knows who you are.

I think it would be more beneficial simply to get off the internet and out of the house.

And then throw 400 claimed BHP at it?

Wasn't the Corsa B hugely successfull in rallying. And also still used to this day for rallying, rallyX, and oval track racing?

What would he say if you had a Mini Cooper?

In fact, they used to do Dolly Racing, a proper race series. (Dolly being Citroen 2CV).

They arn't race cars, but used to go all over Europe with the truck racing?

Whats his opinion on those? Fully fledged racing cars, and racing series?

Or what about the XR2/XR3 cup?

Brand snobbery, whilst owning the brand Not heard of that one before.

Funnily enough, I have piloted that Calibra from one of his lock-ups to another one. (Not his personal garage as shown in the pictures!)

I had to be selective on my wording, I couldn't say driven as it didn't have it's engine in at the time.

i dont understand you think taking a vauxhall to a track day is stupid but you have built a calibra that looks like it has been built for that exact reason??

I found that quite funny too.

Building a replica of a track inspired car.

Don't say that chief, people will try to claim you are my spare account!?!

Sometimes having 4 figures to throw away is a right pain in the arse, I am quickly learning that on a site that needs to save to reach to £10 two figure sums.

We best hadn't film the casino nights out or we really would be hated! (Any Vicky retort is punishable by death! )

That's in your head though. In the real world, it's fairly well accepted that people who build quick cars (or even those who don't) may at some point head to a race track to use them.

You'd look more of a helmet driving that calibra or a metro with slicks on the road rather than the track
