well this is my 5th corsa aswell as having various novas aswell so i thought id do a thread to my latest XE project as i didnt do one for my 3 cars lol.

anywhoooo the daily work van is getting to slow for me and after being used to having XE and LET power i thought it would be fun to build another in my spare time as a bit of a weekend toy

so 1st i bought myself an XE with everything needed to put it into a corsa off my gfs brother as he thought it would e a good idea to build one himself and then realised he doesnt even have aliscence never mind a brain cell

i then got myself a corsa vegas shell, 1.2 8v 3 ownrs from new lots of tax and test and 70k on clocks, engine was removed straight away

amongst other stuff heres one of my sheds full of shizzle mainly just this engine



heres the daily workhorse good car only done 90k and im the 3rdowner from new ot 308mm v6 fronts and a rear disk beam too and a ear seat conversion



heres the shell i bought sits nice and low as its got spax adjustables on it and custom 90mm springs (not cut!!!!)



engine removed next job is tosteam clean the bay before i fit the XE



gearbox de-greased and given a lick of paint



took my sump into work and got it in the parafin bath before giving it a lick of paint too



next for the bath were the mounts!! everything is covered in road dirt and grease and oil and i want it clean so i did these and then a lick of satin paint



and the same for the dipstick aswell and a lick of paint



the car has been left for now and im concentrating on getting the engine rebuilt again in work i gt he crank and measured all the journels for wear but tere spot on thankfully i then gave the block a very light hone his piks half way through



i thought id treat the car to a a new set of shoes and bough these soon to be taken into work for a powdercoat gloss black



fitted em yesyerday i love this pik



and finally piked up anoher treat for it last night



piks of them ftted will be up once iv had them re painted

well its only been a week since i started and thats how far iv got so keep watching and ill keep the updates coming

main priority at the mo is to get the lump thrown in so im awaiting my bottom end gasket set so i can start getting the botom end done

heres some more piks of the van and i found a few on my phone of a car in work youmay also take i liking too iwork in a classic car place lots of old ferraris lambos bentlys etc this is one of the shitter cars but i love it 1 owner from new 67k totally concourse

finally recieved my bottom end gasket set today so can built it all back up and get it mounted in the car this weekend piks up soon

well iv built the bottom end up in work and brought it to the garage along wth a crane ready to be chucked in this week

piks of it getting put back together

arrival of gasket set



fitting of crank with lots of graphogen on the shells



same with the pistons and then torque it all up to the correct settings



tadaaaaaaa!!!!



and new crank seal and oil pump fitted



i then took the engine to the garage and forgot to clen the engine bay before fitting so a shit load of TFR and a trip to the local jet wash was in order!!!!

and as it stands now ready to rock and roll today more piks this evening

im more than happy like lol the morette are going to be painted tomorrow after i sand down both of them and sand the fibre glass i put in the hole that was in the pass light and i am going to plastic weld the bit that controls the hight ajustment thing aswell lol

thanks mate, update today i fitted gear linkage and clutch cable and also did a bit of plumbing not alot but there you go
