Do some quotes on Confused etc and see what prices you get for various cars.

Does it need to be 2 door etc??

Mk4 Astra 1.4 16v LS are only group4 and are pretty decent cars to drive.Surprisingly nippy and well built etc and can be made to look good with simple mods if your into that.

Mate shop about 2l non turb scoobys are peanuts along with Audi a3 1.8t sports, BMW 3 series. Depends if your after fast or looks. Could just stick a redtop in it and keep it as a 1.2

I managed to get a 2 hour test drive in a 56 plate Ibiza DAB edition, that was a 1.4 100bhp, pre-facelift Ibiza FR wheels, climate control etc. Seemed nippy enough, not far off my 1.6 Corsa sport i'd say. Was proper comfy and nice to drive, the dealer selling it had it over priced though. I got an insurance quote off Aviva as an 18 year old with a year no claims for just over £900 fully comp, was just the cars price tag that put me off.

To be honest I would keep the 1l unless u wanna be paying around 2k insurance for something decent. If u have heald a licence for 2 years are 19+ and have 1 years ncb astra gsi are very cheap
