How long does the V5 take to come through? I've been waiting nearly a month now for it..

can be upto a month, try call dvla explaining your situation see what they say.

Depends, did you fill out a v5 and send that off?
or did you apply for a v5 using the form with the car not in your name?

I have recently done the later and it took a month as they had to write to the previous owner.

IIRC DVLA usually say it can take upto 6 weeks before contacting them

Well I got my car about a month ago now from a guy in Southport.

I guess it also depends on if he sent it doesn't it?

Got black (paint flaking off) corsa 3 spokes on now, only temporary but look better than steelies
Im on furness ave and drive down walburgers all the time surprised you havnt seen me :/

Blackpool meet

Should only take a week or so to get a V5 if you've bought the car but it all hinges on when the previous owner sent it off. Obviously if they don't do that, you'll be kept waiting.

If you contact the DVLA officially by way of a V62 logbook application, and they have to write to the former keeper, they will also try and fine them at that time for not notifying of the change of ownership.
