Author problems getting the right clutch kit

hello all im struggling getting a clutch for an engine i bought, the problem is that the ones i order are always different to the one that came off as you can see in the pic has anyone had this problem before? its an x16xel engine with all x16xe top end head manifold e.t.c so as far as i know the bottom ends are the same on both or could that be the problem i really need to get it sorted many thanks lee





any help be much appreciated

Happens all the time, different makes look different but they still fit. Do they actually fit?

the friction plate fits but the pressure plate sits to far away from the flywheel so the bolts dont reach, as you can see on the old clutch the bolt holes are sat closer to the friction plate any ideas?

hi mate it didnt just the release bearing,pressure plate friction plate

mate had the same problem before and the pressure plate had to be compressed,the 3 clips fitted,then fit the clutch and remove the clips.

Ones for pot fly wheel? And ones for a flat?
You have to pull it down abit with the bolts any way, .

the one on the left looks like the kit im selling

could be wrong but the friction disc looks similar size.

Did you make up the engine? what does your flywheel look like, it could be a Nova flat flywheel.

Suppose you could use the new friction plate with the old pressure plate.

hi guys thanks for your help its much appreciated!! here is a pic of my flywheel,i bought the engine off a guy was a reconditioned engine so i dont really know what they had done to it am just replacing all the major stuff while its out ,so is the flywheel a nova one?? or is there two different types of corsa ones thanks again guys great help

also does anyone know whats meant to be in that hole its the air filter pipe join onto the throttle body thanks lee

That looks like a flat fly.

And your new kit is for a pot fly.

Pretty sure it's what was on the nova gsi's,
You could use your old cover with new plate.

Yeah order a Nova GTE/GSI kit and it should bolt straight on

The hole is for the breather pipe from the cam cover, the thinner pipe on the right handside.

thanks alot guys thats great! does anyone have a pic of the standard corsa one so i can see the difference thanks

my old pressure plate has been sat out in the rain for weeks not going to use it lol

auto vaux are taking my wrong clutch back and swapping it so dont need to buy one thanks

The hole in the airfilter pipe, is a breather iirc, which goes to the rocker cover, by the coil pack.
