Whats the E-Cheque all about? How long does it take to clear, should I send them goods or not?
It's for £780, it says not to post till the 13th, but the guy has paid special next day delivery. I withdrew it from ebay, as it would take £80~ for fee's.
I've emailled him, he's sent a SS of his bank account, displaying the transaction going out of his account, and his balance was just under £14k. So I can see that it's going through, but why wasn't it instant?
His email said he's going travelling for his gap year, he's leaving asap.
The item was a new mac laptop.
Don't know whether to send or not, what would you do?

Don't send until the echeque clears
you can ask him to sort his paypal account out so it sends payments straight away then cancel the echeque and get a payment straight into your account
Treat an echeque like a normal cheque

Don't let the item go until you see the money.

I'd do that, because you selling that item through paypal outside of ebay you have pretty much no protection
He can just say he didnt get it and paypal will give him the money back
Tell him to go and pay it into your bank account and you'll post it

Yup. Fricking pita when people pay via that and yet want the item they paid for as quickly as they would if they used PayPal properly
