Had a quick goose around www.matchedbetting.co.uk as I have heard if you careful and clever with it you can supplement your income quite nicely. I downloaded the spreadsheet and put a few figures in, was sticking with football as its pretty much the only sport I know in and out the participants, and it didnt matter which match I used it always ended up out of pocket. Maybe I just dont understand so I am not going to go ahead with it, but I couldnt clearly see where the money is made if all your bets lose a little bit each time?

The first bet is designed to lose you a little so that you get a free bet.

Basically, £50 at a bookie with odds of 2, £50 and a bit laid on betfair 1.96 means a small guaranteed loss of a few quid.

The bookie then gives you a free £50 bet and you lay that off betfair for a gusranteed profit.

A decent site to explain it with a decent calculator to illustrate it is bet72.com

did it for a while, made me a couple of hundred but could be bothered to put the time in.

a mate does it most nights and makes a regular £400 a month on top of his wages. not bad but you need to keep at it, he spends over an hour a night on it.

I used to do it and once fucked up and bet £50 for Man U to lose against some small team and my matched bet was £50 for them to lose (should have been £50 not to lose so a win or draw)

My luck was with me though and they lost at crazy odds and won twice.

Didn't really do it after that when I realised I could have lost £100

I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.

Done it for a while from the MSE forum.

You can make a bit of money but it was too much hassle for me personally for the amount I could make without having thousands to lay.

Done it for a few months, got around 400/500 from it if I remember rightly.

The problem comes once you have done all the inital we'll give you £25/50/200 bets which are easy pickings. Then you end up having to work very hard for £10/£20, turning it over a number of times etc.

Same. The Bet72 site I mentioned earlier was great at pointing out all the offers to start with, but as said once you've taken all the easy offers it gets tricky. Plus, if you do too many at once you end up with hundreds of quid 'pending' neither in your betting accounts or in your bank account - that made me nervous!
