A little help from those of you who either have done photography for a wedding or have been married
What do you recommend I make sure to get pictures of? / what pictures did you like best from your set?

Also what settings to use in the ceremony, outside for group etc pics & at night (disco-ish lights are a pain from experience shooting a band)

Create a shot list of everything you definately want.
Get someone that knows the whole family to help you with the family shots
Turn off the sounds on your camera, focus beeps etc
Look for small details
Don't get in the fucking way - only move when you get a chance during the service i.e. during songs or during readings
Use continuous mode and make sure you have spare batteries and memory cards
Take a selection of lenses
You might want to take a tripod and remote aswell
Settings...Personally I'd stick the camera is S and let it work everything out for me

shots wise... id suggest (was what someone told me) looking at other wedding photographers work, finding a few peoples work you like and then just constantly look at the photos and work out what they did, how they did it and how you are going to get something similar.
Jenko has done it recenetly and i know jj has too so might be worth asking those, but there is a shed load of prep to do and even more hard work to do on the day.
also 1) make sure you are able to use the camera in the church (some dont like it), DO NOT use the flash while in the church will piss many people off.
2) make sure you dont get in the way and you know whats around you, walking backwards taking pictures etc dont want to bump into people or knock stuff over or fall into the water feature (vid on youtube somewhere).
3) try and get some candid shots so people arent always posing, this way it helps capture the moment of the day a bit more.
4) spare everything, batteries, lens's, bodys (if possible), memory cards as you never know what might happen.
5) know exactly how to use your camera and exactly where everythign is on there as you dont want to be standing around with a group of people who just want to get pissed while you set up your camera.
6) as mike said controling the group will be a task so best either have an assistant or someone in the party who can gather everyone up and sort them out.
oh and plan your day ahead, and dont take the b&g away from everyone for too long  .
probably loads more but i have to go back to work now.

What lens do you have ? I'd be slightly worried as you dont know how close or far you will be in some situations.
Might be worth renting a good 50mm prime just for the day
As matt said dont use the flash
What size memory card ? I take it you are shooting in RAW ?
Number 8 could be expanded massively
Parents of the bride with the groom and vice versa, Grandparents etc
Bridesmaids and Groomsmen
Families
Little things before and after, always look around for interesting details,wthe way the tables are laid, centre pieces etc

Without sounding mean in any way, I hope not.
If this is your first wedding, the couple need to be aware that you may or may not get the greatest shots, A good few may be unusable due to settings etc
Not saying you're not a good photographer, however its something I have been asked to do a few times and turned down solely because I wouldn't want the couple initially relying on me.
Fortunately I'm going to a few weddings between now and one I have agreed to shoot for (my brother) so have a few chances to practice with no pressure first.

No offense but I wouldnt be doing a wedding with only one battery, one lens, one card or even only one body.
It is a massive responsability shooting someones wedding.

Even a P&S as backup would be better than nothing.

Nah. He arrived moanin that his car had broken down but he made no effort to contact us. Wifes dad saw him when he turned up eventually and told him to do one. Couple of days later a cheque appeared with our money back and an extra 50 quid.

I've shot three myself and I was absolutely dea on my feet.
You have to know your equipment inside out, no way I could have worried about that aswell.

Psot a few on here Adam.
With regards to the aove photo can see little white marks on the front tyre, so maybe its over-exposed now?

Nah, histogram looks good, just messing about with a low-res jpeg has caused that.
and post some wedding pics up. If you need a hand editing them drop me a U2U and I'll sort them out.
