Ok, I have upgraded my engine to a x16xe, have fitted a 4-2-1, a lexmaul is due to arrive this week, which I will fit also.
Whats the next logical step for some more hp on THIS engine.

I won't be upgrading to 2.0 just yet for insurance reason, and the fact thsi engine has been fully rebuilt and is very reliable

What Robin said, but don't forget arp rod bolts and sbd cambelt rollers to cope with the raised rev limit.

Pretty easy to fit yeh. Just need to remove the sump etc to get to the crank. Imperative the correct tightening torques are used though! The sbd rollers replace tbe plastic standard rollers, which would be more prone to break past the standard rev limit

Arp rod bolts will also need countersinking when fitting them.

Not always the case. I didn't have to countersink the caps on mine

A light weight flywheel will make it rev alot easier, it won't give your engine anymore power, but more power to the wheels.

I got to where you are now on my old corsa then bought my old astra gsi as it becomes a huge money for anything else you want to do. Why dont you buy a car thats made to be fast, then spend what you would spend on performance parts on the extra insurance money. Surely if your planing all these mods your insurance is going to be a lot dearer anyway...?

Lovely car to drive, but just a bit boring unless you spend mega bucks on them, I can have more fun in my Corsa's then I ever had in my old GSI.

Im no saying he should buy a gsi, im saying buy a car thats fast out the box so the likes of insurance and reliability would be easier on the wallet. Fuck trying to repair a heavily tuned smallblock and getting replacement parts if he goes the whole hog mechanically.
