Does anyone know of a company brave enough to take one on?
My engine is getting tired and I'm planning ahead, but I want to see how much I need to give the bm a decent chunk of diesel power.
Posting on one BMW forum has got me nothing

Probably, I think the 335d engine.
However, I'm actually after a price on a different engine, 4.4 v8 d from the 7er

Nope. Never have been. Just know my way round a car and I'm fairly handy with tools.

Big v8 would be cool! I reckon you'll struggle to find someone to do that for you though. I imagine modern BMW electrics to be a bit tricky

That's what I was thinking. Ive seen a few modern petrol swaps, but no diesel ones so far.
The main one which springs to mind was a 6l v12 in a 645i, but the name of the company has escaped me

A diesel BM with a tired engine I thought BM's, over all other lesser cars, would last forever?

he just wants more power tbh, as for the conversion, mechanically they shouldnt be to bad simply because the whole front end will unbolt and remove. Electronics etc i would imagine to be a complete arse of a job, you would nee a lot of stuff from the donor car i would have thought, especially with the immobiliser side of things.

Tried PPC forum? Lots of weird and wonderful conversions going on there.
What about hybrid turbos etc?

My engine is getting tired, it's done 102k miles and it's had a hard life for 45k of those, it never gets treated gently.
14mpg was after a track day.
I looked into a hybrid turbo a while ago and nothing was available, might be now, but that's not really war I'm after
The 745d engine will give 415bhp and 650lbft with a remap, my 4 banger will never get near that.
I know the engine will fit, it's the wiring which will be the issue, but there had to be a way round it, at the end of the day, it's just an engine!
