To those who have given me advice thanks a lot much appreciated, I will have a go at trimming the arches and see where that leads. To those who think it's chavvy an crap to put 17's ona b then keep ur opinions to yourself, i will build my car how I want to just like u will do yours to ur taste. The wheels have completely transformed the car hence why I want them to fit nicely, they have finalised the motorsport look and add sum extra aggression. And funny enuff no big chavvy bodykit, just smooth gsi.

On my missus car, its down 60mm on et42 17's, had to take a lump hammer to the inner arches, flared and cut the arches. Had to make sure it was right as she uses it every day.

cool!! to be honest its not that low, i had 15" speedline turbines on before (as in the pictures on here) and they were right up in the arches on the front and rubbing so had the front end raised a bit which sorted it out. couldnt get away with raising the suspension again, would'nt look right!! just got to get these fitting nice as they are, they do look good, tried gettin pics up but for sum reason it wont upload them which is annoying!! am going to try slightly narrower tyres to

If they came off a Clio they are probably ET35-38.

First and foremost get the right offset on there otherwise not only do you have to butcher everything, often to no avail, but the car is also more dangerous in a blow out situation due to negative scrub geometry.

Then get a tyre with a helpful 'profile', for example not all 205/40/17's are the same something like a Falken FK451 gives a bit of extra room over something like a Yokohama A520.

185/35/17 tyres would help loads, but are very much like rubber bands! Other sizes like 195/40's can be got from Camskill.co.uk

I had 205/40/17's lowered 40-45mm and all I did was remove rear arch bolts and never had a problem with rubbing unless I had 2 passengers in the back

Bloody hell, I didn't know they did 185/35's. Who does them? Bet they aren't cheap.

Same as Jambo. Soon as I fitted Falken FK451 with their slanted tyre walls I didn't get any scrubbing.

ET42, rear arches had the edges cut and the plastic arch glued on, front was debolted. Didnt rub even with people in the back.

tanks again guys for your help, will have a play around and see what i can do. Think will be able to sort it out easy enough as its not a constant scrub, just a few tweaks here and there!! trying to find out the offset of the wheels to!
