i have suspisions that the engine in my gsi is a x14xe  but the engine number is not in the normal place  is there any other place to look ?

ECU code would be a good pointer, assuming it's not a 'messed with' example, other than the engine code, you are a bit limited short of pulling the head and measuring the bore.

the gsi isnt a x14xe if i remember it should be a c16xe

look at the sump on your corsa on the supposed x14xe and see if it has like a little spacer onit if it has the spacer then its a c16xe/x16xe if u want any help i wil take a pic of mine tomorrow and post it up on here for you
