I have my private plate still on the corsa and i want to transfer it over to my new car before i sell it.

Is it possible to go to my local DVLA office and sort it out there and then or do i have to mess about filling in the retention forms and they waiting a few weeks?

Any help would be good!

If you've got both log books you can do it without putting it on retention and losing that fee when assign it but you'll still have to wait for them to come back amended.

If you go to your local office the plates can be swapped straight away but you still have to wait for the new V5 to come through. Gives you time to advertise it in the meantime tho

You'll have to fill in a transfer form so it'd be quicker to do that before you go unless you already have. Think i had to take my MOT certificate for my car so they could amend the details on that as well
