Oh. Is he still driving that Renault Megane?
Yeah, can I just read you something from Top Gear magazine? No, it’s alright, I’ve got it here, I’ve got it here.
“With a mere ninety break-horse-power available, progress is too leisurely to be called fast, but on the motorway in fifth gear the Megane’s slow pace really becomes a pain. Uphill runs become power-sappingly mundane, while overtaking National Express coaches can become a long, drawn-out affair.”
Not my words, Carol. The words of Top Gear magazine.

Skoda and Volkswagen at different ends of the table?
Riiiiiiiiight
You obviously don't know about the company and how they work, if you did, you would understand that Skoda's are much more reliable than VW's, due to them using technology that has been used and tested by Audi, VW and Seat before hand.

afaik most skodas implmented the same technology at similar times, for example the AUQ lump being used on the leon, golf and octavia on similar model years
same goes for the new octavias and the TSFI lumps etc etc

PD130 Engine, came out in the A3 and Golf in 2001, Ibiza in 2002 and the Fabia in 2003. In general Skoda's don't have as many toys as the others in the VAG group

Saab are the most pointless car manufacturer ever... They make 3 cars, all of which are second to Mercedes and BMW.

A lot of it is down to customer expectations of the given manufacturer. Someone buying a £80k Merc is going to expect to be treated at a much higher standard than someone who goes in to buy a £6k Daihatsu! Therefore perceived satisfaction will be rated as higher with the Daihatsu etc.
Joke tbh, only so much a manufacturer/dealer can do!

i love these vote things that get published each year, has to be the most meaningless thing ever
i can't say i've ever taken part in one of their "votes" and doubt anyone on here ever has.
i really wonder who votes, is it stats taken from hello magazine readers?

That was just an example, I don't have access to dates when technology was rolled out on the various VAG platforms
